Doug got a deer this hunting season. We have been enjoying the fruits of his labors :)

We got our Christmas Lights up before Doug's Surgery. We knew if we didn't they wouldn't get up. B calls them her pretty lights! She loved driving around the neighborhoods looking at them. Unfortunately we were unable to make it to Temple Square due to Doug's Surgery and getting sick.

A little back story to Doug's Surgery. While I have been training for my Half-Marathons Doug has been a great support and has pretty much done every training run with me. He even ran the Legacy Midnight 10K with me...without stopping!! I was one proud wife :) Throughout all this his foot pain continued to get worse everyday and he finally went to see a foot doctor. 

He was diagnosed with Morton's neuroma.

Morton's neuroma is an injury to the nerve between the toes, which causes thickening and pain. It commonly affects the nerve that travels between the third and fourth toes.

Symptoms of Morton's neuroma include:

• Tingling in the space between the third and fourth toes
• Toe cramping
• Sharp, shooting, or burning pains in the ball of your foot (and sometimes toes)
• Pain that increases when wearing shoes or pressing on the area
• Pain that gets worse over time

After getting multiple injections of steroids and using a shoe insert it was not getting any better so it was determined that surgery was the next step. So at the end of November my awesome Mom came up to watch B and H while I took Doug to surgery. The surgery took 20 minutes...the Dr. said it would be a quick surgery with the neuroma being so large.  Doug hated the lying around for a few days. Today it is getting better and we are looking forward to get back out their and train for a Half-Marathon together. We are shooting for the Top of Utah Half...we will see considering Baby is due to arrive end of April/ beginning of May via C-Section.
