So August flew by so fast. Doug and I have been crazy busy with school and some fun times and not so fun times. Here is the down low...
August 10-12 Bear Lake trip with the Schwartz family. It was a blast to see all the family together. This is a family tradition for Doug's Mom's family each year. We rented a huge cabin to accommodate the ever expanding family. I being the newest by marriage. We do have a cousin expecting a little boy in a few months. We went jet skiing...my first time. Four wheeling and even a few trips out on the boat. Our first day that water was awful...very choppy. The second day was perfect.
The Monday of our trip we found out that Doug's Great Aunt Mary Lou passed away. She practically raised Doug's dad. We were expecting this to happen and were very lucky that she was able to attend our wedding. So we went home and worked Wednesday and went back that night for the viewing and stayed over to Thursday for the funeral.
Right in the middle of all this Doug took his phone for a swim and killed it. So trying to get a hold of him was a nightmare.
On Saturday while we were both working, I received a phone call from Doug's sister Kathleen that Grandma Schwartz had passed away that afternoon. This was a shock to the whole family. Doug's Mom moved in with her to help her and came home and found her sitting in her chair with her shoes on and a glass of water in her hand. We are all thankful that she went peacefully. So on Thursday we were back in Logan to lay Grandma Schwartz to rest in the Logan city cemetery.
Things are back to normal...working and chugging along, slowly getting our house fixed up.
